Filling Your Storage Vault:
- Protect your items with cloth or paper pads. Paper pads can be purchased for $1.00 each.
- Place heavy items on the bottom, and stack light items on top.
- Pack your items as tight as possible to prevent shifting and damage.

- Try to distribute the weight evenly in your vault. Avoid packing all the weight to one side.
- Use the proper size box. Place heavier items in smaller boxes so they will lift more easily.
- Fill boxes completely. this reduces shifting and helps prevent the boxes from shifting as well.
- Securely close all boxes. Closed boxes take less space and provide you greater protection.
- Mark your boxes with your name and list of contents. This will make finding things easier.
- Place items you need often in the front of your vault.
- Remember, your storage vault is made of wood, so watch for splinters.
- brace the door open when you are loading to prevent unexpected closing.
For Your Safety:
DO NOT load more than 1500 pounds in one storage vault.
DO NOT
place flammable or hazardous materials in this storage vault.
DO NOT
store liquids in this storage vault.
DO NOT
let children play in, on, or around this storage vault.
Breakables:
Use a dishpack or glassware box for greater protection.
Place heavy items at the bottom of the box.
Wrap each item separately with foam, plastic or paper.
Stack dishes on their side and glassware upright.
Pack all open space with paper to ensure a tight fit.
Furniture:
Disassemble if possible. It takes up less space in the storage vault.
Cover with cloth or paper pads to protect from damage.
Most sofas can be stood on end to make the best use of space. Use paper pads to protect armrests.
Place mattresses and box springs in a protective bag.
Large Appliances:
Clean appliances thoroughly before storing.
Drain all water from appliances before storing.
Tape down all moving parts.
Store light items inside appliances with proper padding.
Keep refrigerator and freezer doors ajar to prevent mildew.
Mirrors and Pictures:
Wrap mirrors and pictures in clean paper and pack into a mirror box.
DO NOT lay mirror flat!.
Clothing:
Wardrobe boxes are best for storing clothing. Place shoes and folded items at the bottom of the box and use the bar to hand items on the top.
Books and Paper:
Pack books and papers into a small box.
